Charlotte Barrington and Amy Winterbourne prepared for the Ben Nevis Challenge by shaving their hair off to boost the group’s fundraising for Papworth Trust.
Then, joined by John Ide and Jeff Massey, the foursome completed the gruelling challenge which saw them climb 1,300 metres, cycle 25 miles and canoe round Loch Lochy all in one day.
After completing the challenge, Jeff, the charity’s volunteer programme manager, said: “The whole experience was just amazing.
“It rained pretty much from start to finish but we were just 18 minutes off being the fastest mixed team.
“It was a great thing to do and the camaraderie among the four of us was brilliant. The most important thing was the generosity of everyone who supported us - helping us beat our target of £2,000.
“Every day I see first-hand how Papworth Trust supports disabled and older people and the money raised will make a significant difference.”
Ahead of the challenge, Charlotte and Amy took part in a head shave at the Portland Arms in Cambridge.
Charlotte said: “Both of us have done our own fundraising before, but we wanted to do a big gesture and stand out.”
