More than 140 people from businesses across Cambridge came together last night in the effort to be named Cambridge’s brainiest firm at Pure Resourcing Solutions’ annual charity quiz night.

Twenty nine teams from regional companies went head to head at Menzies Cambridge Hotel and Golf Club on Thursday evening (15 November), raising £1,600 for two of Pure Resourcing Solutions’ chosen charities; the children’s bereavement support group STARS and Wallace Cancer Care.

An extremely generous offer of £400 from the team from Domino Printing Sciences rounded the total up to an impressive £2,000.

The evening kicked off with talks from Wallace Cancer Care and from David Culley, trustee of STARS and associate director at Pure Resourcing Solutions. Once the quiz began there was no doubting the competitive spirit in the air as teams of five demonstrated their sport, history, music and current affairs knowledge.

Eastern Leadership Centre, who won last years’ Cambridge quiz, held on tightly to their title by winning for the second time in a row. The victors were presented with a bottle of champagne for each team member, while others won in the raffle which included prizes such as a Cambridge Satchel Company satchel and a signed Tottenham Football Club football shirt.

Director of Pure Resourcing Solutions Gill Buchanen said:  “This year’s quiz has once again raised valuable funds for Wallace Cancer Care and STARS, two charities we are supporting in Cambridge. It is fantastic to see all the teams each year and once again their generosity has been amazing.

Pure Resourcing Solutions holds an annual quiz in the four office locations; Cambridge, Norwich, Ipswich and Chelmsford
