Recruitment event is another roaring success

Cambridge Network's latest Recruitment Evening, which took place last Tuesday, gave large numbers of potential candidates the opportunity to meet with some of the region's leading technology companies.

"We are really getting into our stride with these events,” says Claire Angus, who heads Cambridge Network's Recruitment Gateway. “There is clearly an appetite locally for this kind of informal networking between employers and people seeking jobs or looking for a career move.

“This one was a roaring success, which bodes well for our next afternoon Jobs Fair on Friday 3rd May.

"Last week we had a great audience, with every seat taken to listen a talk from our headline sponsor, Global Graphics Software. They spoke about their company and the products they develop, as well as providing an overview of the culture within the business and the current roles they are looking to fill."

Alongside Global Graphics Software, exhibitors at the Eddington Postdoc Centre included a wealth of Cambridge's successful and emerging organisations – many of which are involved in exciting technology developments:

  • Archipelago Technology
  • DisplayLink
  • Resurgo Genetics
  • Enthought
  • The Quantum Technology Enterprise Centre
  • Secure Thingz
  • IDTechEx
  • CCDC
  • Fludic Analytics
  • PetaGene
  • Kameo Recruitment
  • Form the Future

During the evening, Global Graphics Software offered workshops to tell potential candidates about its Gold Partnership with Microsoft and the MCSD Qualification, and to talk about The Shed, a programme inspired by the much larger Microsoft Garage.

Experts from Kameo Recruitment were also on hand to speak to candidates about their CVs and interview techniques. Form the Future was there too, offering advice for candidates from its qualified, impartial careers advisors.

Jobs Fair 3rd May 2019

This will be an afternoon event from 12 – 4pm, once again at the Eddington Postdoc Centre.

It will take the form of a traditional Jobs Fair, offering vacancies in all disciplines, including commercial, marketing & sales, technical & scientific, HR, administration, IT and finance, to name a few.

Says Claire: “We have space for 20 exhibition stands and we expect a high volume of quality candidates.

“Please get in touch if you have vacancies to fill and would like the opportunity to promote your employer brand.”
