Formerly known as Adiposet Ltd, Regenerys is a regenerative medicine company formed to deliver a patient’s own adipose tissue for unique, beneficial day care breast reconstructions following surgery for cancer. The company is also developing cosmetic surgery applications.
Altrika Ltd (www.altrika.com), , is a revenue-generating regenerative medicine company supplying its cell-based skin regeneration therapies, Myskin® and Cryoskin® for the treatment of severe burns and chronic wounds. Myskin® is used in the UK NHS for life threatening burn cases. As well, the Company provides bio-processing and bio-banking services to third parties developing advanced cell therapies.
As a result of the acquisition, the employees, assets and operations of Altrika in Sheffield have been transferred to Regenerys as a going concern, with the Sheffield site continuing its tissue processing operations. The acquisition provides Regenerys with the necessary quality systems and licenses to operate from the Human Tissue Authority (HTA) and Medicines and Health products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), as well as qualified scientific personnel for expanding its cell bio-processing and bio-banking projects.
Dr. Bill Mason, Chairman of Regenerys commented "The acquisition of Altrika by Regenerys, is an important development in respect of our Company's profile as a regenerative medicine business. We are committed to providing innovative solutions to both patients and our customers for the natural regeneration of skin, tissue and organs using their own tissue.
"This acquisition will enable us to build on our work in the area of breast reconstruction and cosmetic applications using adipose tissue, and extend our reach to the treatment of serious burns and chronic wounds. We are particularly pleased to be able to acquire Altrika and their talented scientific staff which will bring a very high level of expertise and quality to our business. "
About Regenerys
Regenerys Ltd (www.regenerys.com) is a regenerative medicine company offering medical logistics and services to facilitate better cosmetic outcomes in both breast cancer surgery and other cosmetic procedures. Regenerys enables storage and return of the patient's own adipose tissue for lipomodelling. Regenerys’ services are provided to both NHS and private healthcare providers.
Regenerys has recently established itself at the St John’s Innovation Centre in Cambridge, and retains close links with University Campus Suffolk at Ipswich, the base of Prof Brendon Noble, one of the Regenerys founders. The company has a strong Clinical Advisory Board.
Regenerys investors include New Wave Partners from London and a group of East Anglian-based business angels.
Regenerys exists to serve the growing need for autologous adipose tissue banking, while avoiding the need for artificial prosthetics in reconstructive surgery. Adipose tissue has an increasing number of applications in the reconstructive and cosmetic surgical areas, as well as long term potential as a source of Adipose Derived Regenerative Cells (ADRCs) that may have therapeutic uses in wound healing, amongst others. An adipose tissue bank makes the use of this tissue practical and affordable for patient and healthcare provider alike.
The acquisition of Altrika brings Regenerys outstanding resources in the field of regenerative medicine. This includes Altrika products for skin regeneration in the treatment of burns and potentially chronic wounds.
