Research for Impact: R4I 2022 Conference - save the date!

With plans well under way for TWI’s Research for Impact: R4I 2022 Conference – an in-person conference with exhibition in Cambridge on 7-8 April 2022 – the team is excited to ask you to “save the date” for this flagship event focused on UK and European project collaboration.

The Conference will showcase a selection of successfully completed projects from both the now concluded Horizon 2020 programme and Innovate UK and in particular highlight some of the new technologies that have reached market readiness.  These research and development (R&D) projects were the result of consortium collaborations between TWI and its Industrial Member companies, SMEs in the UK, Europe and associated countries, Innovation Centres and RTOs.

In looking ahead, the Conference will cover some of the R&D opportunities coming up via the new Horizon Europe programme, and provide an in-person experience for meeting up with new and existing contacts, with a view to forming future collaborative relationships.

There will also be a segment of the Conference dedicated to alternative ways of raising funding for technology-based projects with commercial potential, in the form of talks by, and 1-2-1 sessions with, venture capitalists and business angels.

Simultaneously, an exhibition will run alongside the Conference for delegates to drop in and out of, according to their interests, enabling them to come together to network and explore new ideas.

Heidi Dyson, Group Manager, Public Funding Management at TWI said “One of the aims of TWI is for us to align the research and development activities we undertake with our collaborative partners, with the EC and the UKs’ strategies for taking innovation to market.  One of the ways we do this is by evidencing the success of what we have collectively achieved over time, as well communicating our ongoing plans for further technological and engineering-based advancement.”  Going on to explain “Therefore, the R4I 2022 Conference and exhibition will provide an ideal platform for these activities and demonstrate to industry, academic and governmental stakeholders the effectiveness of project consortiums composed of TWI and its partners, and their valuable contribution to the UK and EU’s innovation strategies.”
