Resource Central goes the extra mile for the RAC

Cambridge and Sarajevo-based Resource Central has completed a three-month resourcing campaign to recruit people from all walks of life into the RAC Direct Sales team. The project utilised both Direct Sourcing and Candidate Attraction methodologies, to engage with entrepreneurial spirits across the UK.

 

Martin Shaw, Client Services Director of Resource Central, explained the milestones encountered on the journey: “Representing a company with over 8 million customers means being both brand ambassador and custodians of the candidate experience – and our team of Sourcers worked seamlessly to make sure that all candidates were engaged in the most professional way possible.

"The candidate insights into perceptions of the role have been as valuable as the actual recruitment exercise itself, offering real value to future campaigns. It's been a fascinating journey for us, as most of our projects involve technical or specialist positions rather than broad-brush attraction and screening – and we've been delighted to share all our learnings with the RAC.”  

Commenting on the candidate engagement dimension of the project, Steve McNally, Director of Brand & Communications for Resource Central, detailed both the challenges and the opportunities: “The RAC is one of the world's most trusted names, a true SuperBrand. But it's not necessarily known as the place for high-earning, self-employed sales people – and our challenge was to convey the opportunity in 'the RAC way', establishing a balanced narrative that arrested attention as well as working within established corporate guidelines. It's been a highly enjoyable project and a truly integrated resourcing solution.”
