The top category is open to any local retail outlet, restaurant, pub or café, with the judges looking at presentation, merchandising, customer service, staff training and community involvement when they pick the winner.
Laraine Moody, head of employer engagement at Cambridge Regional College, said the awards provided a great opportunity to celebrate businesses in the district.
“These awards recognise the fantastic achievements of local businesses and we are delighted to be sponsoring the Retailer of the Year award. As a training provider, we work with more than 2,500 employers across the region and know how important it is to offer service of the highest standard.
“We are looking forward to seeing a large number of entries for all the awards, and to local businesses receiving the recognition they deserve.”
The black tie awards night takes place on Friday 5 June at The Granary Barns, Woodditton.
Among the other hotly-contested awards are Business of the Year, Start-Up of th Year, Contribution to he Community, Employee of the Year and Appretnice of Trainee of the Year.
The awards, held every 18 months, celebrate the contribution local businesses make to the economy and encourage new businesses in the region. Entries can include established local businesses, local branches of national businesses, small and micro businesses and new businesses.
