The event also allowed their guests to celebrate the company’s success over the last 12 months. Safebox in West Wratting has expanded its document storage operation by gaining some significant global clients based in the local market and opened a new sister company, Viking Self Storage, in Bedford. In addition, it has diversified into property acquisition and developed a retail shop and ten bedsits on Mill Road, Cambridge.
Neil Hamilton-Meikle, business development manager at Safebox, said: “The last 12 months have been about stability, diversification, growth and development. A strong team of suppliers supporting our expansion plans has been key to our continued success. We are feeling very positive about the next 12 months and the team we have built around us is critical to our continuing success.”
An evening of karting was a great way to say thank you to all the company’s supporters for their combined effort and dedication, as well as providing an opportunity to let off some steam in a traditional, competitive fashion.
Neil said: “As the drivers set off, it quickly became apparent that the ‘no contact’ rule had not reached all ears as some adopted fierce tactics to gain the upper hand! However, the playing field soon leveled out and a good spirited, competitive edge appeared in us all. Unfortunately two of our guests are amateur stock car racers in their spare time and despite forcing them to start at the back, we soon realised that heavy-footed driving was no match for skill. They deservedly claimed 1st & 2nd place, however our MD did come in a respectable 3rd place.”
The evening was such a success that it has been touted to become an annual event.
