Safety critical computer systems development explored at conference

A workshop that explores the development of certified systems and devices will be run at this year's Embedded systems conference.

SafeTTy Systems Ltd have announced that they will present a half-day workshop at this year's UK Device Developers' Conference. Entitled "Developing ‘Certified’ Embedded Systems" and presented by Dr Michael Pont, this workshop will consider and compare current international standards, from household goods to aerospace systems, and it will demonstrate how modern time-triggered (TT) system architectures can be used in such certified systems.

The Device Developers' Conference is a one-day conference for computer scientists and electronic engineers that work in the development of intelligent systems and devices. The event consists of technical workshops, presentations and an exhibition, providing an important opportunity for engineers and vendors to share knowledge and explore new technologies.

The 2014 Device Developers’ Conference covers four dates and four locations for next year’s event.  Starting with Bristol on Tuesday 20th May, the event will then visit Cambridge (22nd May), Manchester (3rd June) and Scotland (5th June).

“This three-hour workshop will not make delegates an “instant expert”, said Michael Pont, CEO of SafeTTy Systems Ltd. “However, this workshop will give a good grounding in the issues involved in the development of certified embedded systems. It should also help delegates to determine whether there are any gaps in their current development processes that need to be addressed in order to meet key international standards.

SafeTTy Systems Ltd provides support for developers of reliable, real-time embedded systems in sectors including aerospace, medical, industrial, automotive, marine, defence, satellite systems and high-end consumer goods.

“Dr Pont is widely recognised as a leader in this field,” said Richard Blackburn, Conference Manager. “ This really is an important opportunity for developers to explore and learn about new approaches to the development of safety critical embedded systems. In this respect, the Device Developers’ Conference is very much about the sharing of information and the exploration of new technologies. “

SafeTTY Systems Ltd will be using the Device Developers’ Conference to launch three new products (WarranTTor, MoniTTor and ConnecTTor), which are based on the use of time-triggered (TT) architectures. They have been designed “from the ground up” to enable the rapid development of reliable and cost-effective embedded systems. Delegates attending this event will be entitled to a 50% discount on the purchase price of all three of these products.
