Sagentia leads discussion at Cambridge Cleantech TSB strategy event

Sagentia, a global technology and product development company, will present on successes and failures in cleantech innovation at the Cambridge Cleantech event ‘Influencing the TSB’s Strategy for Innovation in the UK Cleantech Sector'.

Sagentia’s Dr Robin Lee, Chief Technology Officer, will be joined on the speaker panel by Iain Gray, CEO of the Technology Strategy Board; Sir Robin Young, Board Member at Cambridge Cleantech; Dr Mark England, CEO of Sentec; David Ball, Chairman of David Ball Group; and Andrew Jones, MD of Alquist.

During his presentation Dr Lee will focus on the state of innovation in the cleantech sector both from an industry and a technology perspective, discuss how cleantech companies can be more innovative and consider the role the Technology Strategy Board could play in helping further stimulate innovation in the sector.

Dr Lee comments: “Sagentia recognises the value and significant growth potential of the cleantech sector driven by the insatiable need for energy and resources together with increasing awareness for our environment. The technologies and companies striving to succeed in this sector span a huge range of capability and readiness and getting your innovation or product successfully to market presents many challenges. The TSB and Catapult initiatives will play an invaluable part in providing guidance, resource and funding to cleantech companies navigating their way to commercial success.”

The Cambridge Cleantech event aims to create discussion on the effectiveness of the Technology Strategy Board in achieving its aim ‘to accelerate economic growth by stimulating and supporting business-led innovation by being a catalyst, highlighting opportunities, connecting partners and by funding’. It will also consider how the TSB could better support innovation in the UK cleantech sector.

Sagentia’s focus on this topic is based on its proven track record of working on projects for clients in the cleantech sector ranging from market needs identification and analysis through to full product development. It’s projects in this area include supporting clean energy companies in the solar, fuel cells, CHP and wind energy markets; developing energy and water efficient products in a range of industries; and supporting the creation of smart grids for electricity and other utilities.
