Salimetrics experts: Dr Sarita Robinson (Dr Survival)

Each month Salimetrics features an expert from its Saliva Research community. It aims to bring together university researchers around the world to encourage the sharing of ideas.

The company says: "We want to encourage collaborative research and to maximise grant applications / awards in these challenging economic times. We have made it possible for you to communicate directly with the 'Expert' featured."

Dr Sarita Robinson is a senior lecturer within the School of Psychology at the University of Central Lancashire. Sarita started her PhD in 1999 under the supervision of Dr John Leach - an expert in changes in brain function in survival situations. During her PhD Sarita developed Dr Leach’s theories into how our brain’s function when we are under pressure. Sarita is a committee member of the British Psychological Society’s Psychobiology section as well as the recently formed Crisis, Disaster and Trauma section. However, Sarita is also a member of the Institute of Civil Protection and Emergency Management as she is keen to ensure that her research is known outside of academia and that it can be used by practitioners.
