The Breakthrough Moments Box will be located at CB1, the new mixed-use city quarter being developed by Brookgate, based around Cambridge station. Seminars at the event will cover subjects such as ‘Maximising Technology for Business Growth’, an interactive session conducted by Microsoft for those attendees who believe that technology should be used strategically to drive business forward; and ‘Spotlight on Employee Engagement’, which will provide businesses with the tools needed to boost employee productivity. A full breakdown of the event and further information can be found at http://www.santandercb.co.uk/content/cambridge-breakthrough-box-live-event.
The Box is a versatile space for people to meet and share ideas and expertise with a range of stakeholders. Santander has partnered with a number of businesses to deliver the masterclasses including G4S; Peninsula, the UK’s 3rd ‘Best Company to Work For’ as voted by The Sunday Times; PwC; and Microsoft. A ‘Women in Business’ panel and networking discussion on the challenges faced by businesswomen in the region is also being supported by The Cambridge Network.
With exports and international trade a major focus for businesses in the UK, the Box will contain Santander Corporate & Commercial’s International Trade desk. Visitors will be able to use and experience the Santander Trade Portal, a unique online tool that allows businesses to discover and better understand which global markets provide the biggest opportunity for their business – and how to enter those markets. That event will be followed by a session at the Microsoft Research and Development to get their take on research for International Markets. The Box will also showcase Santander’s Growth Capital lending programme, aimed specifically at helping business owners and entrepreneurs to fast-track growth.
Designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, CB1 will provide an ideal backdrop to the festival. The development is set to provide a significant boost to Cambridge’s economy by creating a thriving gateway to the city and attracting businesses and visitors to the area. High quality office and leisure space is central to the CB1 proposals and the development is already home to global firms such as Microsoft and Mott MacDonald, as well as UK firms with high growth potential.
