The Society is the professional body for the financial planning profession in the UK. It is part of the Chartered Insurance Institute group and is aligned with its Royal Charter which requires that they secure and justify the confidence of the public.
The award of associate member recognises that Scrutton Bland’s financial planning department is committed to a set of core professionalism principles including “a commitment to driving confidence in the power of professional standards, competence, integrity and care for the client”.
Grant Buchanan, Partner in the financial planning department at Scrutton Bland reflected on the past twelve months for the East Anglian firm: “2020 has been a challenging year for everyone, and our financial planners and the wider team have worked hard to deliver support and advice to our clients. It is great to see that dedication recognised in this award of associate member, which in the words of the Personal Finance Society ‘symbolises our efforts to deliver a ‘united profession’ approach to building public trust and to elevate the importance and value of financial wellbeing through financial planning and investment advice’.”
Scrutton Bland Financial Services Ltd is part of the Scrutton Bland group, and offers a cohesive service to clients, as Grant explains: “We take a joined-up approach to financial management since within our firm we have specialist tax and financial planning expertise all under one roof. We believe that a client’s financial planning should be integrated with other areas of their financial strategy such as tax. We even have in-house insurance brokers who can provide cover tailored specifically to our clients.”
