Smartboxx exhibits custom enclosures at Cambridge technology conference

Smartboxx, designer and manufacturer of custom plastic enclosures, panels and housings, has announced that it will be exhibiting at the UK Device Developers’ Conference, to be held in Cambridge on the 22nd May.

Innovative enclosure manufacturing technology is based on the tool-less manipulation of flat sheet plastic

Smartboxx will be available to discuss their innovative approach to enclosure design, one that is based on the tool-less manipulation of flat sheet plastic by CNC machining, bending and forming, all carried out to strict tolerances. This approach enables its design team to turn around a workingprototype within1 weekfrom receipt of drawings, or approval of CAD/CAM designs.

The Device Developers' Conference is an event for developers of intelligent systems and intelligent devices, targeting engineers involved in Embedded Systems development, Software Development, Electronics Design, Enclosure Design and Manufacturing Services; it will take place at Bristol, Cambridge, Manchester and Scotland on the 20th, 22nd May and the 3rd and 5th June respectively.

Sponsored by key industry tool and technology vendors, the Device Developers' Conference is free to engineers and managers working in the technical sector.

“We are very pleased to be supporting the Cambridge event,” said Karl Sears, Operations Director at Smartboxx. “ This will be a good opportunity for us to explain our innovative approach to enclosure design and what is now possible. More importantly, we will be able to explain how we can help accelerate product development and improve design quality, whilst also reducing costs.“

A key feature of the Device Developers' Conference is that it is a single day event, which takes place in four locations. This enables engineers to attend with the minimal of travel time and expense. Another key feature is the ½-day technology workshop schedule that enables engineers to receive hands-on training from industry experts.

"The Conference is shaping up to be a really informative and useful day for engineers in this field,” said Richard Blackburn, Event Organiser.  “We are very pleased with the content of the workshops and presentations and the quality of the presenters. We are very sure that engineers will find this Conference enjoyable and informative, and a worthwhile investment of their time. "

The companies exhibiting and presenting at The UK Device Developers' Conference include embedded software provider Wind River, German debug tools company Lauterbach, UK computer board manufacturer Eurotech, embedded systems training consultants Feabhas and development tools distributor SDC Systems. It is anticipated that up to 40 vendors will be exhibiting to demonstrate and explain their latest tools and technology.

The half-day workshops at this event will include ‘An Introduction to Debugging Techniques for Safety Critical Systems’,  ‘A Guide to Programming The ARM Cortex M’ and ‘Getting to Grips with the new MISRA C:2012 Standard’.

Presentation titles include ‘The Commercial Use of Linux for Reliable Systems’ and ‘Hardware Considerations for Device to Cloud Connectivy’.
