The focus is on early careers for this event, which will include advice and discussions on how to kick-start your career; tips on how to reach out to companies for employment and work experience, and an overview of the latest jobs available in this area.
Claire Angus, Head of Recruitment Gateway at Cambridge Network, says: "We're aware that the pandemic has had a huge effect on the job market and on people's opportunities for work experience, which is so important – especially for those who are just starting out.
"As well as the usual overview of vacancies for all jobseekers in the Cambridge region – which, if you check out our jobs board, are still substantial – we have planned this session to provide advice and information for students and graduates keen to develop their capabilities through work experience.
"We are delighted to welcome Sue Keogh, founder and CEO of digital marketing agency Sookio, to talk about the week-long virtual bootcamp she ran for 20 students this summer (pictured), and also Skye Willis from Workfinder, an organisation that gives students access to thousands of employers and work experience opportunities.
"In addition, we have a combined workshop from Marc Rothera of Anglia Ruskin University, and Charlotte Steggall, Early careers & Talent Acquisition Specialist at AVEVA, who can bust the myth that the 'apprentice' title indicates low-skill, low pay opportunities - as that is certainly not the case."
