St Ives Town Council celebrates 10 years of the Farmers' Market with commemorative calendar

The Farmers' Market offers a trading outlet to local farmers and producers. It is held on the first and third Saturday of each month from 8.30am until 2pm in the centre of St. Ives. To celebrate 10 years of the market, St. Ives Town Council appointed Cambridge design agency Provoke Me to create a commemorative 2014 wall calendar.

Produce sold at the Farmers' Market is sourced within a 30 mile radius. There is a wide range of organic and fresh products for sale including;  cakes, fruit, vegetables, meats, eggs, cheeses, bread, preserves, honey, nursery, herbs, chilli products, fresh cut flowers, live chickens and more.

When discussing ways of commemorating the 10th anniversary of the market, it was unanimously agreed that a wall-hanging photographic calendar, featuring some of the most colourful traders and their products, would be a winning combination.

Commissioned to design, produce and project-manage the calendar, Cambridge design agency Provoke Me called on the services of local photographer, Marie Barley to capture the images for each month of the year.

In a head-spinning series of 13 different photo-shoots, all held on location throughout Cambridgeshire and East Anglia, ensuring that all of the traders and their products were available was a logistical challenge but one which the team at Provoke Me rose to magnificently.

The finished calendar is on sale now through St. Ives Town Council. It celebrates 10 years of successful trading in St. Ives by showing you some of the friendly faces behind the wonderful array of products on offer at the Farmers' Market.
