Shoppers and families will be able to try their hand at a great range of ‘have-a-go’ activities, including hybrid vehicle technology, electronics, games design, 3D printing, modern building block construction and more.
The STEM awareness day, organised by Cambridge Regional College to encourage more people to think about careers in the sectors, takes place on Saturday January 25, from 9am to 4.30pm.
“Inspiring, challenging and cutting edge technologies within Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths offer excellent career opportunities,” said CRC’s Head of Engineering and STEM lead Alan Ward.
“The day is a great opportunity for Grafton centre shoppers to experience cutting edge skills and techniques required by today's employers and to provide an insight into how traditional stand-alone trade areas are being merged through STEM subjects.
“The hands-on activities on the day will provide a valuable introduction and insight into how many well-recognised occupations have links to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.”
