The proposals can be viewed online at www.whichcotehouse-cambridge.co.uk where parties can also fill out a comments form. All comments submitted at the public exhibition or subsequently received over the next few weeks will be carefully considered by the team and will help inform the final proposals for the site. A planning application is due to be submitted to Cambridge City Council in February.
Whichcote House is located near Mitcham’s corner between Springfield Road and Milton Road in Cambridge. The existing building is a three storey brick built building containing 30 bedrooms which was built in the 1970’s, and which has come to the end of its life.
The proposal is for a replacement three storey building containing 46 rooms for post graduate students, common rooms, laundry, storage and two disabled car parking spaces. The new building is to be re-orientated so that its main pedestrian access and servicing is off Milton Road, thus removing traffic from Springfield Road.
