Overview of abdi's modules and specific information with regards to the Level 5 Award in Leadership and Management:

The course also provides the opportunity of progression to the Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management, and the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management .

Unit 505 - Managing individual development: improving capacity of practicing and potential middle-managers to develop and lead teams.

Objectives :

  • To understand the importance of leading teams to achieve organisational goals and objectives.
    By assessing and making a judgement on the effectiveness of their own organisation in measuring team performance against organisational goals, and then to use relevant research and management theory to evaluate the role of leadership in helping teams to achieve organisational goals and objectives.
  • Be able to develop and lead teams
    To undertake a critical review of their own ability to develop and lead teams to achieve organisational goals and objectives. You are then required to use the recommendations from the critical review to implement changes to your own leadership style in order to more effectively develop and lead teams.

Unit 519 - Developing and leading teams to achieve organisational goals and objectives: developing the ability of practicing and potential middle managers to manage individual development.

Objectives:

  • Be able to evaluate individual performance in an organisation.
    By conducting a performance gap-analysis with an individual in your area of responsibility, based on an analysis of the individual’s current skills, knowledge and abilities as well as an analysis of the current or future performance requirements of the individual’s role.
  • Be able to implement a personal development plan for an individual in an organisation.
