There are currently over 250 live business opportunities available in Latin America through www.exportingisgreat.gov.uk . These include £77bn of healthcare contracts, such as products for Columbia to help fight the Zika virus, along with oil & gas, laptops and other ICT equipment for Mexico, renewable energy in Brazil, an archaeological research project for Dominican Republic, craft beers for Panama, gluten fee snacks for Costa Rica, kitchen equipment for Peru, bicycle assemblers for Argentina and a Chilean cider producer looking for partners to develop uses for by-products. There are also still many opportunities to be had linked to the Rio Olympics, including bracelets for hospitality and suppliers for live sites.
One Cambridge company already taking advantage of opportunities in Latin America is bag tracking technology company Trace me Luggage Tracker. Having the opportunity to meet representatives from the different countries is as much about finding out which countries not to go into as much as which ones to proceed with says the company’s Head of Sales & Marketing Nick Preston. “We thought Brazil would be a big country for us but after one-to -one meetings at last November’s ExploreExport at Newmarket we decided to look into Columbia and Mexico instead. We are about to do our first delivery to Colombia.”
The event costs £26.50 per delegate. To register and book appointments visit http://bit.ly/latam2016
