Three firms from Cambridge will now pitch their ideas to an audience of cleantech investors at Cambridge Cleantech’s highly anticipated pitching and investment event, the Cleantech Venture Day. The two-day hybrid event will take place on the 18th and the 19th of May. The 18th will be a day of networking for innovators and investors and panel discussions held in person in London. This will be followed by top innovative pitches to an audience of high-profile investors looking for climate- positive solutions, to be held online on the 19th.

The Cleantech Venture Day is a pitching- and- investment event organised by Cambridge Cleantech. The event aims to provide an opportunity for cleantech SMEs and businesses seeking to secure funding, as well as for experienced fund managers, business angels, and corporate investors eager to invest in disruptive climate-positive technologies.

With a background of a 15-year record of successful Cleantech Venture Days in London and Helsinki, the Cleantech Venture Day had over 270 companies pitching their ideas and as much as 654 million euros have been invested as a result of this initiative. In particular, in the last 5 years, 135 million pounds were raised by companies presenting at the event.

“Cleantech Venture Day is a great opportunity to meet like-minded investors and partners. We pitched at the March 2021 event and one of the judges’ VC fund ended up investing in our Series A,” said Jean de La Verpilliere, Echion Technologies.

Camfridge Ltd, Faradair Aerospace Ltd and Archipelago Technology Group Ltd specialising in Cleantech sub sectors of Circular Economy, Transport and Greener Buildings and Manufacturing all are based in Cambridge. They will pitch along with the other 21 selected entities from 7 different countries. The event had received well over 100 applications from 20 countries and 7 cleantech sub-sectors.

“Cleantech Venture Day is an opportunity for the cleantech community to support start-ups from various backgrounds and we strongly encourage female founders and entrepreneurs from underrepresented backgrounds to apply,” said Sylvie Russell, Operations Manager at Cambridge Cleantech
