Top tips from Cambridge University Press experts

Anyone interested in enrolling on an MA in Publishing can get a flavour of the industry during a special event at Anglia Ruskin University’s next Postgraduate Open Evening.

Alastair Horne and Andrew Winnard, of Cambridge University Press, are running free masterclasses focusing on social media marketing within publishing and editorial practices at the Open Evening on Wednesday, 13 March.

Anglia Ruskin’s MA in Publishing was developed in close collaboration with Cambridge University Press, as well as a number of other leading publishing professionals, and aims to equip students with current skills and practices to enhance their future employability.

Additionally, Cambridge University Press has extended their Publishing bursary for Anglia Ruskin students for a further three years.  First offered in 2012, the bursary will be available each year until 2016 with the successful student receiving a £1,200 reduction on their tuition fees.

Other bursaries available to students on the MA in Publishing include The Stationers’ Foundation University Bursary Scheme and the Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Studentship.

The Postgraduate Open Evening at Anglia Ruskin’s Cambridge campus will showcase a variety of courses.  As well as special talks focusing on Anglia Ruskin’s MAs in Music Therapy and Dramatherapy, there will be opportunities to have one-to-one conversations with course leaders and current students for subjects ranging from the MA in Children’s Book Illustration to the Anglia Ruskin MBA.

Experts will also be on hand to provide advice on fees and funding, and how to apply for a range of Masters, PhD and Professional Doctorate research opportunities.

The Cambridge University Press publishing masterclasses begin at 4.30pm, with the Postgraduate Open Evening running from 5.30-8.30pm.
