The multi-dose vials contain 10 doses and come as a box of 10 vials (ie 100 doses). "These have been priced at the same price as 100 doses of the single presentation but it is not guaranteed we can get 10 doses from one vial." says the clinic.
"This has been a difficult stage in the history of vaccine shortages over the last year, 2013.
"Very few clinics have the amount of patients to provide 10 clients within the six hours window of time required to use up the multidose vial. Failure to reach this number will lead to financial loss for practices and wasted doses mean some people will be unprotected against this potentially deadly disease.
"However in both our clinics Ipswich and Cambridge we will be offering this service to the travelling public, but have had to increase the price, to reflect the logistical difficulties and potential financial loss.
"We have also managed to get some further doses from a pharmaceutical wholesaler at much inflated prices, so we have to pass this price rise on to our clients to enable us to cover costs.
