TWI / The Welding Institute is set to hold the UK’s largest welding and joining exhibition of the year, the Welding, Joining and Manufacturing Conference and Exhibition (#WeldJoinExpo26) at their headquarters near Cambridge on 7 July, 2026.
With the majority of TWI /The Welding Institute’s 100+-year history headquartered at Great Abington, TWI Cambridge is a fitting location for the event, which will bring together experts and professionals from across industry for keynote speeches, presentations, and industry-specific workshops.
WeldJoinExpo26 already includes confirmed presentations by representatives from Make UK, IOM3, the Nuclear Industry Association, the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, the National Composites Centre, the National Manufacturing Institute of Scotland, BAE Systems, Siemens, the European Space Agency, Make UK Defence, Kuka Systems UK, the Excellence Achievement and Learning Awards, Seabery, the National Skills Academy for Nuclear, Sheffield Forgemasters, Leonardo Aerospace, the UK Department of Business, and more.
The unique, free-to-attend, industry event will include several dedicated areas and activities for attendees to explore, including:
- TWI/JCB Training and Skills Centre: TWI / The Welding Institute have partnered with Industrial Member, JCB, for a day of skills seminars, speeches, presentations, as well as ample opportunity to network with experts in training, certification, and engineering career development.
- Workshops and Seminar Areas: Industry-specific workshops and seminars related to the aerospace, defence, nuclear, oil and gas, and space industry sectors, as well as an industry-wide NDT area including presentations and live demonstrations. In addition, WeldJoinExpo will feature dedicated areas providing information about the TWI Library, TWI Certification, and the benefits of Professional Membership with The Welding Institute.
- Future Technology Rooms: Find out how high-quality research is driving transformation and delivering real benefits for society and the economy, including a deep dive into innovations that have driven real change around the world and the next wave of advancements that will shape the future of industry. As well as TWI experts, there will be presentations from IOM3, Make UK, and top industry partners.
- Skillweld: WeldJoinExpo26 will host the East of England Skillweld regional finals, which are aimed at trainee/apprentice welders working and/or training in the welding industry at level 2-3 or higher level.
- Exhibition: WeldJoinExpo26 will also include an exhibition from TWI and Make UK Members, demonstrating some of the services, support, and innovations available through our network.
- Networking and Tours: Of course, there will be ample opportunity to network with other attendees and speak with experts from TWI and The Welding Institute during the event. Attendees will also have the chance to explore the facilities at TWI Cambridge.
