TWI Innovation Network continues to grow with the launch of ninth Innovation Centre

The TWI Innovation Network continues to grow with the launch of the latest Innovation Centre in collaboration with London South Bank University.

The network nurtures and co-ordinates partnerships for the acceleration of research and development for industry, and is driven by the Structural Integrity Research Foundation through engagement with large enterprises, academic institutions, and industry.

These partnerships bring together expertise, application knowhow and market knowledge to progress engineering advances in specialist areas across a range of industry sectors in line with commercial needs.

The latest Innovation Centre is the third one formed by TWI alongside London South Bank University and the ninth TWI Innovation Centre overall.

The new centre aims to become a self-sustainable Centre of Excellence in the field of advanced polymers, reinforced thermoplastics, and the joining and non-destructive examination of thermoplastics.

It follows on from the success enjoyed by the previous two centres created in collaboration with London South Bank University, in automated NDT and coating technologies, which between them have secured £3.9 million of funding since July 2015.
