The UK Device Developers' Conference goes from strength to strength

UK embedded systems and realtime software conference sees increased delegate numbers and sponsor support.

The organisers of the UK Device Developers' Conference are celebrating the success of their recent event.

More than 280 engineers, computer scientists and developers attended the Conference, which was split over four locations. More than 30 companies sponsored the Conference and presented technical workshops, technical presentations and participated in a vendor exhibition

"We are delighted with the way this year's Conference has worked out," said Richard Blackburn, Conference Manager. "We have had very good feedback from both exhibitors and delegates. This year's Conference covered a lot of important issues such as software reliability, advanced debugging, developing certified systems, hardware connectivity and design, and ARM development. In this respect we managed to attract a good audience and feel that we are creating a very worthwhile and productive industry event."

The Device Developers’ Conference is a one-day event for engineers, computer scientists and technical managers working in the development of intelligent systems and devices. The Conference took place in Bristol, Cambridge, Manchester and Scotland, on May 20 and 22, June 3 and 5 respectively.

The Device Developers' Conference explores the new technologies and tools that are used in the development of embedded systems and electronics. The aim of the event is to provide a productive forum whereby engineers can meet key industry experts from design tool and hardware vendors, as well as undertaking half-day workshops and presentations that offer new skills and knowledge.

“We are very pleased to have grown the event, on last year, “ said Richard Blackburn. “Delegate numbers were up by more than 20%, and we also successfully added the Scottish event to the schedule.  I’d also add that it’s been a lot of fun, the smaller venues make it a more sociable, enjoyable and informative experience.”

The 2014 event included both a software stream of presentations, and a hardware stream of presentations. Some key topics for this year’s event included Android development, Device to Cloud technology, Open Source Software for Critical Systems and GUI/HMI development."

The next Device Developers’ Conference will take place May/June 2015.
