Both the Facebook and Twitter pages will be updated regularly with details of technical workshops, presentation topics and exhibitor information. Enabling engineers and projects managers to assess whether this event would be a good investment of their time.
“It’s fair to say that engineers are getting choosy about which shows and exhibition they prefer to attend,” said Richard Blackburn, Event Organiser. “Our challenge is to create an event that is worth their time; an event that they will find productive and useful in their daily work. We are working hard in this respect, and hoping that they will track our progress on Facebook and find something of value to attract them along.”
The Device Developers' Conference, a new annual event for engineers and designers involved in the development of intelligent systems and devices, will take place at Bristol, Cambridge and Manchester on the 14th, 16th and 22nd May respectively.
This year's event will feature informative half-day workshops, presentations introducing leading edge concepts and technologies and a vendor exhibition where engineers can get up to date with the latest tools and technologies available for future development.
Sponsored by key industry tool and technology vendors, the Device Developers' Conference is free to engineers and managers working in the technical sector.
"This event is shaping up nicely," said Richard Blackburn, Event Organiser. "We have been very pleased with the level of industry support for this project, we are on target to deliver a very useful event. The workshops and presentations we have lined up should prove to be very informative and helpful for engineers in this field, and many engineers will value the chance to meet a broad range of vendors in a single space."
A key feature of the Device Developers' Conference is that it is a single day event, which takes place in three locations. This enables engineers to attend with the minimal of travel time and expense. Another key feature is the ½-day technology workshop schedule that enables engineers to receive hands-on training from industry experts.
The companies exhibiting and presenting at The UK Device Developers' Conference include embedded software provider Wind River, German debug tools company Lauterbach, UK computer board manufacturer Blue Chip Technology Ltd, embedded systems development consultants Pebble Bay, development tools distributor SDC Systems and RTOS company Wind River. It is anticipated that up to 30 vendors will be exhibiting to demonstrate and explain their latest tools and technology.
The half-day workshops at this event will include ‘An Introduction to Advanced Debugging Techniques’, ‘An Introduction to Device Driver Development’ and ‘Getting to Grips with the MISRA 3 Standard’.
Presentation titles include ‘Managing The Commercial Use of Linux’, ‘Developing Reliable Embedded Software With a Defined Time Approach’ and ‘Developing Device Drivers for Embedded Systems’.

UK Device Developers’ Conference launches on Facebook and Twitter

The UK Device Developers’ Conference 2013 organisers have launched a dedicated Facebook page and Twitter page to assist engineers in keeping track of new developments during the run-up to this year’s embedded systems and electronic design event.
