The canoe relay race raised more than £3000 for the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity in June 2012 and has been selected in the Small Businesses Challenge Event category.
Method staff will be attending the glitzy Business Charity Awards ceremony with Dr Lynn Morgan, chief executive of the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, on Monday 20 May at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane, London.
Kirsten Corrigan, Method’s brand & strategy director, said: “We are very proud to be shortlisted, along with only two other small businesses, for such a prestigious national award. We are a young agency which has grown from one to 12 staff in only a year and this nomination illustrates how much can be achieved with hard work, determination and creativity. We are really pleased that Wacky Races has helped put both Method and the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity onto the national stage.”
Last year’s first ever Wacky Races was so successful that all the teams which took part have signed up for this year’s event, which is taking place at Milton Country Park on Saturday 1 June. The crews include the Cambridge News, the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, JCI Cambridge, Cooper Lomaz recruitment, Borney UK, Januarys, Realnet and Adept Software.
Kirsten added: “Wacky Races is a world away from standard networking events because it’s a fun and colourful way to meet likeminded people, allowing more natural relationships to form. The Business Charity Award judges have obviously picked up on why the event is so popular, and we’re all keeping our fingers crossed ahead of the ceremony later this month”.
