The Conference Centre is located on the Wellcome Genome Campus – home to the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, EMBL-European Bioinformatics Institute and Biodata Innovation Centre - and offers a luxurious venue and accompanying facilities such as catering, accommodation, and audiovisual services.

With the new Event Management Service the Conference Centre can now take on the running of all aspects of events. Services offered range from simple registration and badge-making to fully managing large-scale events, including speaker and abstract management: all solutions are tailored to suit organisers’ needs and budgets.

The new service focuses on attracting research-orientated scientific business.  In particular, an abstract management service has been introduced specifically with the Conference Centre’s core audience in mind. This is a highly unusual feature, not generally found in other conference facilities.

Clients using the abstract management service will be able to coordinate committee abstract reviewing online, quickly and easily, no matter where they are based.  Once the successful abstracts have been selected, the team can take care of communicating the committee’s decisions to the authors and will collate abstracts for presentation in digital and print formats. This abstract management service is also available as a stand-alone product, and can be used for events running anywhere in the world.

The full event management service is designed to support events from start to finish, covering all aspects from administration, finances, and communications, to delegate, speaker, sponsor, and exhibitor management.  Clients can also choose from other set packages, reflecting the different levels of involvement and support required, or opt for a bespoke service, depending on their needs.

A secure online registration and payment system comes as standard, with event-branded registration pages allowing delegates to create an account in seconds and manage their details, book sessions, or submit material.  The team can also create branded websites for each event, incorporating the registration system, abstract management system, and all event-specific content.

With this new suite of services the Conference Centre aims to free organisers from the pressures of event administration and logistics, allowing clients to focus instead on the scientific programme or networking and enjoy their event.
