Each person gave a detailed description of a project they have been working on, followed by an in depth discussion about the pros, cons and wins.
Next stop was BRE (Building Research Establishment) at Watford. BRE is a world leading multi-disciplinary building science centre with a mission to improve the built environment through research and knowledge generation. Following the tragic Grenfell Tower fire BRE has been working closely with the government and other stakeholders to determine how best to support the owners, operators and those living and working in similar tower blocks around the UK.
The final visit of the day was the University of Hertfordshire at Hatfield. The University has a long history of Civil Engineering and has re-launched new MEng and BEng degree programmes due to start in September 2017.
