The annual photography competition, open to all staff and students in Cambridge University's Department of Engineering, is sponsored by ZEISS (Scanning electron microscopy division).

ZEISS has kindly donated the following prizes:

  • 1st prize : ZEISS Conquest HD 8x32 Binoculars

The winning photographs will feature on the Department and University websites, newsletter, electronic screens, posters and more.

Previous years' winners have received national and international press coverage for their photographs and videos.

A very high proportion of the entries will be used in a web gallery and throughout the Department website, giving acknowledgements wherever they are used.

The panel of judges includes Roberto Cipolla, Professor of Information Engineering, Dr Allan McRobie, Professor David Cardwell - Head of Department, and Philip Guildford - Director of Research.
