Zinwave CEO invited to be panellist speaker at DAS and Smalls Cells Congress 2013

Zinwave, a global provider of wideband active Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) for in-building wireless coverage, is pleased to announce that its CEO, Ian Sugarbroad, has been invited to participate as a panellist speaker at the forthcoming DAS and Small Cells Congress. Ian will share his expertise and experience on implementing active DAS technology to improve in-building wireless coverage.

The event is taking place at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, Las Vegas, NV from 29 April-1st May. Zinwave can be found on Booth Number 222.

The Congress, now in its 6th year, is the premier event for the dynamic and rapidly growing DAS and small cells industry. It attracts hundreds of senior-level attendees, including wireless carriers, OEMs and system integrators, as well as a host of enterprise end-users from a variety of environments, including universities, sporting stadiums, healthcare, and hospitality.

Sugarbroad, with over 30 years experience in the wireless business and international telecommunications, will be sharing his thoughts with fellow panellists about best practices for ensuring accountability and responsibility among multiple stake holders involved in a DAS install.

Sugarbroad joined Zinwave in January 2012. Previously he has been the CEO of LGC Wireless where he built the company to $100million in five years prior to its acquisition by ADC. Apart from his extensive in-building experience Ian has held senior positions at a number of respected companies in the telecoms sector: President and CEO at interWAVE Communications and VP Wireless Business Development at Nortel Networks.

Zinwave’s in-building solution is the only wideband active DAS on the market globally that is frequency-agnostic. It supports multiple services and frequencies between 150MHz and 2700MHz on a single installation, making it an attractive business proposition to building owners and/or operators alike. It removes the necessity for multiple system installations to support different services required in an in-building scenario.

It also eliminates the need for expensive and disruptive upgrades to existing infrastructures to accommodate new services, such as 4G LTE, providing the lowest total-cost-of-ownership per installation and making it completely future-proof. Zinwave’s active DAS also supports any service from public safety through to Wimax and LTE on the same hardware layer.

Comments Ian Sugarbroad, CEO of Zinwave; “It is a real honor to be invited to participate in such a prestigious event. Wireless coverage is rapidly moving to an inside out business model; the implementation of future-proof solutions is key in this transition because it is neither feasible nor affordable for building owners or network operators to continually replace or upgrade exiting infrastructures to support new frequency bands and standards. Traditional solutions are becoming increasingly complex and expensive to maintain and keep up to date. Solutions like Zinwave’s System 3000 reduce the cost of ownership, making it feasible to always deliver ubiquitous coverage of the latest services”.

Zinwave was recently identified by ABI research in their annual in-building research report as part of the next-generation of DAS vendors and one of the new companies to watch out for as the DAS market evolves.
