The distributed antenna system (DAS) has been installed and commissioned by ROOTS Communications Pte Ltd, a leading value-added distributor and solutions provider for telecommunication-related products and installations, and Zinwave’s strategic partner in Singapore.
Esplanade-Theatres on the Bay is located on six hectares of waterfront land alongside Marina Bay, near the mouth of the Singapore River. Its two main venues are a 1,600-seat capacity concert hall and a theatre with a seating capacity of 2000. It also has two smaller venues, an outdoor theatre and a mall with retail and F & B outlets.
Zinwave’s in-building solution has replaced a legacy installation that was no longer able to provide the coverage needed to deliver reliable cellular services. Zinwave’s DAS was chosen because of its ability to support all existing services as well as emerging ones, such as 4G LTE, on a single hardware layer, making it completely future-proof and offering rapid ROI.
Zinwave’s in-building solution is the only wideband active DAS on the market globally that is frequency-agnostic. It supports multiple services and frequencies between 150MHz and 2700MHz on a single installation, making it an attractive business proposition to building owners and/or operators alike.
It eliminates the need for expensive and disruptive upgrades to existing infrastructures to accommodate new services as they become available, providing the lowest total-cost-of-ownership per installation.
Zinwave’s system provides cellular coverage in all indoor areas of the Esplanade. Its simple design comprises only four basic components; a primary hub, connected to the operator base stations, a service module, an optical module, a hub chassis, and a number of remote units discretely installed throughout the venue to avoid impacting its visual appearance.
