Samsung tablets not ‘cool’ enough to infringe Apple's registered design
The UK High Court recently delivered its judgement in Samsung Electronics (UK) v Apple Inc which was a case relating to infringement of Apple’s Registered Community Design (RCD) for the iPad tablet. The judge ruled that Samsung’s ‘Galaxy’ tablets would not create the same overall impression on the ‘informed user’, because they were ‘not as cool’.
