Network members boost broadband drive

Cambridge Network members have helped to boost the countywide campaign for superfast broadband to help businesses and the local economy to thrive.

There was a huge spike in traffic from Cambridge Network members registering their demand for broadband online following the recent publication of an article about the Connecting Cambridgeshire online campaign, which appeared on this site and in the Network newsletter .

The campaign to bring superfast broadband to the majority of the county's homes and businesses  by 2015 flew past the 14,000 registration mark at the end of August and is well on the way to its 20,000 target.

The Cambridge Network is in the top five of websites linking to the site, according to Google Analytics.

The Connecting Cambridgeshire website has not only seen a rise in registrations, but also more traffic returning to the website to see what’s happening with the campaign.

A growing network of more than 60 Broadband Champions has also helped to increase traffic to the website through local blogs, village websites and newsletters.

With the support of local businesses, parish groups and Broadband Champions, the campaign is well on the way to reaching 20,000 registrations, which will be used to show suppliers the strength of demand for superfast broadband.

You can register your support for the campaign at www.connectingcambridgeshire.co.uk
