My 8th Half-Marathon

Injury Active CEO, Jessica Barnes, completes her 8th half-marathon

This month, I crossed the finish line of my 8th half-marathon (21.1 km).

And while I’m celebrating this huge personal achievement, I’d like to share with you a few lessons if you are considering running your first half marathon:

Consistency beats intensity. Small, repeated efforts over time lead to meaningful progress. A well-structured weekly running plan that allows for gradual progression is key.

Mental resilience is just as important as physical preparation. Often, the toughest miles are won in the mind before they’re won in the body.

Growth happens outside your comfort zone. Challenging runs are a reminder that progress comes from learning to sit with discomfort—while still progressing sensibly and not rushing the process
