This month, I crossed the finish line of my 8th half-marathon (21.1 km).
And while I’m celebrating this huge personal achievement, I’d like to share with you a few lessons if you are considering running your first half marathon:
✅ Consistency beats intensity. Small, repeated efforts over time lead to meaningful progress. A well-structured weekly running plan that allows for gradual progression is key.
✅ Mental resilience is just as important as physical preparation. Often, the toughest miles are won in the mind before they’re won in the body.
✅ Growth happens outside your comfort zone. Challenging runs are a reminder that progress comes from learning to sit with discomfort—while still progressing sensibly and not rushing the process
