The Neurodivergent Coach
Creating effective neuroinclusive workplaces
The Neurodivergent Coach works with individuals and organisations across three areas: coaching, workplace needs assessments, and neurodiversity conversations that actually move things forward.
None of it is a data transfer exercise. Coaching here is a genuine partnership shaped by what the person in front of Nathan actually needs, not a fixed formula handed down from outside. Workplace needs assessments are built entirely around one individual rather than a template, and they often surface more than an organisation expected; that's a sign the process is working properly, not a sign something has gone wrong. And the conversations, with managers, with teams, with the people navigating a workplace not always built with them in mind, are there to build real understanding, not just compliance.
Nathan Whitbread holds an ICF PCC coaching accreditation and an ILM Level 7 qualification in coaching and mentoring, and has his own dyslexia and ADHD diagnoses, so the work is grounded in lived experience as well as professional practice.
He is a contributor to Lens Not Label: A Conversational Guide for Working More Effectively With Neurodivergent People, written by Claire Pedrick and Kim Witten https://lensnotlabel.com/ and is listed on Cambridge Network's own curated coaching roster.
Nathan Whitbread (PCC, ILM7) is the founder of The Neurodivergent Coach, working across coaching, workplace needs assessments and neurodiversity conversations to help build genuinely effective neuroinclusive workplaces.
His route into this work is personal as well as professional. Diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD as an adult, Nathan understands both the lived experience of being neurodivergent and the practical realities organisations face in supporting it well, rather than treating it as a checklist to get through. Before this, his career spanned technology and business development, which gives him a genuinely organisational view of how workplaces actually function, not just a coaching perspective.

Nathan is also developing his supervision practice, a discipline from the coaching and caring professions that is proving increasingly valuable to leaders more broadly. Where coaching focuses on the individual, supervision faces outward, toward the people a leader is responsible for who are never in the room when decisions get made, sometimes called the unseen other. Working with leaders across sectors, Nathan is seeing how much difference this makes to organisations once it becomes a genuine habit, and neurodivergent experience is very often part of that picture, without supervision needing to be a specialist neurodiversity tool to matter.
Nathan's approach starts from a simple principle: the person in front of him is the expert on their own experience, and good support depends on understanding that experience first, not applying a formula handed down from outside.
Nathan and I have worked together on our coaching for around a year and when I needed a coach for 2 individuals in different organisations where I work, I naturally turned to him.
In short, flexible sessions he enabled both these people to break through the internal barriers that affected their effectiveness at work. Both speak highly of how his gentle, yet clear approach helped them to gain their own insights.
Somewhat ruefully, one of them told me "He doesn't tell you what to do does he? He makes you do your own work!" All whilst seeing this was far more effective than what she had expected.
That's why I engaged him, and it's why I recommend him to you!
Products and services
Talks and workshops
Our talks and workshops start as a conversation, not a lecture. We explore what's actually useful for your organisation and help you shift the narrative, so you get the most out of the different thinking styles already in your teams.
Coaching
Our coaching offer looks beyond the individual to the wider picture around them, often working with both the individual and their manager together. This builds the self-awareness, communication and practical strategies that make results stick, not just in the session but in the everyday workplace.
Workplace Needs Assessments
Our Workplace Needs Assessment packages are built around the individual, not a template. Each one looks at how ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia and other neurodivergent conditions show up for that person at work, and turns it into clear, practical recommendations that support performance and lasting retention.
