On Saturday 6 October from 11am until 4:30pm the charity that campaigns to keep Cambridge special is hosting a day dedicated to delicious countryside delights, which the whole family can enjoy.
Get apples, nuts and other soft fruits from your garden identified by experts; discover the importance of orchard conservation and beekeeping; buy unusual local apple varieties; have a go at making fresh apple juice using a traditional apple press; take part in craft activities; watch a green woodworker in action; buy locally-grown herbs and vegetables; and enjoy a guided walk to the orchard and learn about bees and fruit trees. And if that isn't enough there will be refreshment stalls to visit and fairy tales to listen to in the afternoon.
NB This event is free to attend but a donation towards the upkeep of Wandlebury is appreciated.
Parking at Wandlebury costs £2.50 / free for charity members.
Directions: Wandlebury Country Park is on the A1307, 2.5km south of the Addenbrooke’s roundabout
