IT Systems Support Administrator (Fixed Term)

Are you passionate about delivering excellent IT support and improving digital services in a complex, high-impact environment? The University of Cambridge is seeking an IT Systems Support Administrator to join our Education Services IT Systems Support Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the systems that underpin recruitment, admissions, and student administration across the University.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver responsive customer-focused IT support, troubleshooting issues and resolving service requests
  • Investigate and resolve incidents and problems, escalating where appropriate
  • Provide application and database support, including routine maintenance and performance monitoring
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and service enhancements
  • Deliver training and guidance to users to support effective system use.
  • About you

    You will bring a strong combination of technical aptitude and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of users.

    You will have:

  • Experience providing IT support to users, resolving issues and handling service requests
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage competing demands
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A proactive approach to learning new systems and improving processes
  • Experience working in an IT environment supporting operational services
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices or experience delivering training or user guidance would be desirable, as would experience of working within a UK Higher Education environment.
