Our client a private equity backed organisation in the early years education sector seeking a Management Accountant.
This private equity backed organisation is in an active buy‑and‑build phase, operating across multiple sites, and undergoing significant investment and transformation.
As Management Accountant, reporting to the Financial Controller you will take ownership of the monthly management accounts process, support budgeting and forecasting cycles, and deliver insightful analysis.
Key duties include:
Month End & Financial Control
Prepare all journals and postings for an accurate, right first time month end close
Produce monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Ensure transactional processes align with reporting requirements
Identify opportunities to strengthen financial controls and streamline close processes
Budgets & Forecasting
Support the production of annual budgets and in year reforecasts
Deliver monthly variance analysis against budget and forecast
Process Improvement & Governance
Support the Financial Controller in enhancing controls, documentation and accounting policies
Contribute to reducing month end reporting timelines
Act as a key user and champion of the Datarails system
Financial Analysis
Provide value adding analysis to senior leadership to support decision making
Assist with ad hoc analysis and board level reporting
The most suitable Management Accountant applicant will have:
CIMA/ACCA part qualified status (or equivalent) with 4+ years' experience
Strong management accounts and balance sheet ownership experience
Excellent Excel skills
Experience with Xero (preferred) and/or advanced systems skiills such as Datarails
Competitive salary plus benefits
This is a remote-first role, offering flexibility and autonomy. Occasional /ad-hoc travel to sites across the Midlands will be required, therefore applicants will ideally be Midlands based and willing to travel when needed.
