Congratulations to Pauline Smith, a member of Cambridge Network and Director of The Comms Smith, who has been awarded Fellowship status with the Institute of Internal Communication (IoIC).
"Fellowship is a public, highly respected quality mark,” says IoIC president Suzanne Peck. “As an Institute, we value the diversity that professionals with differing backgrounds and expertise bring to the sector. Fellows are not only recognised for their accomplishments but also esteemed as leaders in our field.”
She added that the Fellowship is a mark of professional excellence, awarded not simply for years of experience but for meaningful contributions that shape and influence the internal communication landscape.
“Fellows represent the pinnacle of expertise and experience. Their elevation to this status underscores the significant impact they have made and their role within our community.”
Based in Peterborough, Pauline runs her own consultancy, The Comms Smith, and has built a reputation for helping organisations get internal communication right through her deep understanding of the needs of different audience groups – whether that’s shaping clear messaging during times of change, supporting leaders to communicate with confidence, or creating strategies that bring people together around a shared purpose.
Reflecting on the honour, she said:
“I’m absolutely thrilled to receive this recognition from the IoIC and to join the esteem ranks of IoIC Fellows.
“I truly believe in the power of internal communication as a key driver in helping to make work a great place to be. I’m looking forward to using my experience to help the IoIC develop best practice guidance, contribute to the creation of standards, and support other members.”
