You might have seen our video with young adult carer Eloise last year (you can find it here if not: Finding Myself While Caring for Others | Eloise’s Story), where she spoke powerfully about the challenges of caring for both of her parents and their complex health needs, including small vessel disease, epilepsy and hearing and sight impairments.
We’ve been supporting Eloise for the last 18 months, and she was keen to tell us how much life has changed in that time. Her caring responsibilities haven’t eased, but support has given her a new outlook. She’s back at college and has a job, which is brilliant - but other changes, like a supportive group of friends and newfound confidence, have had an ever bigger impact, as she explains in this clip.
