Blue Smile is taking part in Big Give Small Charity Week campaign, hoping to raise £10,000 in one week to support children’s mental health in primary schools across Cambridgeshire. NHS figures show that 1 in 5 children in England have a probable mental health disorder, so the need for the charity’s services is greater than ever.
Anne Kent-Taylor, Blue Smile Charity Director, says:
“Blue Smile is marking our 15th birthday this year and - while there is much to celebrate - like many small charities, we’re seeing higher demand than ever for our help at a time when we’re also facing higher costs and a tough funding climate. So we’re delighted that Blue Smile has been selected to participate in this Big Give campaign to champion the work of small charities like us. Thanks to match funding from Global’s Make Some Noise, donations through our Big Give campaign page will be doubled from 23-30 June, so every £1 has twice the impact in supporting children’s mental health across Cambridgeshire."
Through 1:1 therapy and small-group work provided by expert therapists, Blue Smile helps children to learn, play and grow to their full potential. The charity works hand-in-hand with parents and teachers to ensure children’s emotional wellbeing is supported at home and in school.
Blue Smile’s services are provided in schools and are free for families, meaning support is easy to access for children most in need. Since 2010, Blue Smile has worked in over 80 schools, helping more than 3000 children to enjoy happier childhoods and build brighter futures.
