The IAM 1000 report noted that Mewburn Ellis has a large cadre of experts who “produce outstanding patent applications time after time”.
A host of satisfied customers agreed that Mewburn Ellis “has an excellent grasp of the academic to commercial interface and the constraints that businesses work under” and that the firm “also distinguishes itself by putting responsiveness and accessibility at the heart of its service”.
Six Mewburn Ellis partners, including Seán Walton, Stephen Gill and Nick Sutcliffe from its Cambridge office, were also individually recommended and recognised in the prosecution rankings.
Commentators reported that Seán Walton is “excellent, particularly for biotechnology – he works extensively in opposition and prosecution and has a very loyal following”.
Stephen Gill was described as “extremely knowledgeable and in possession of a great understanding of the potential issues” when drafting applications and conducting searches.
Nick Sutcliffe stood out for his “efficient and practical approach to patent activities”.
