Older workers are often a company’s most skilled and experienced employees and retaining them is crucial

The Midlife MOT helps them stay in work for longer. This is the primary focus and benefit of the Midlife MOT.

This is achieved by helping employees understand why and how they should remain in work, including the financial benefits, help with work-life balance and ongoing continuous professional development.Other benefits include:

  • Demonstrating your commitment to age inclusivity in the workplace
  • Developing a more skilful, motivated and productive workforce
  • Supporting employee wellbeing across a range of important issues
  • Reducing absenteeism through health support
  • It’s free! Funding for the Midlife MOT is provided by the Department for Work and Pensions.

People cannot access their Midlife MOT without your involvement.

We are urging all employers to consider taking part in this important activity for the benefit of their workers and their organisations.
