Thinking about exit, succession or stepping back one day?

Many founders spend years building a business without ever making proper space to think about what comes next. Exit, succession and transition often sit in the background; important, but easy to postpone while the day-to-day demands of running the business take over.

Emily Potts

I’m an exited founder who now supports SME founders to clarify their options around exit and succession, and to prepare for a future transition.

I’m currently gathering insights from founders of established businesses to better understand how they feel about the idea of eventually moving on. What feels clear? What feels uncertain? And what makes this stage so hard to think about before it becomes urgent?

The survey is anonymous and takes around five minutes to complete. I’m planning to write up the findings as a short insights report to share with the Cambridge Network and other founders, to help bring this often-overlooked topic into the open. There’s no automatic follow-up following the survey, but there is the option to leave your email address at the end if you’d like to request a free 45-minute conversation with me.

If you’d like to contribute, I’d be very grateful for your input.

You can access the survey here.
