DSEAR Assessment

Many businesses handle flammable liquids, gases, solvents or dusts without realising the serious fire and explosion risks present if not managed accordingly.

The Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR) require businesses to accurately assess and control these hazards. Getting it right protects your people, and as a by product your premises and your business continuity.

We deliver clear, practical DSEAR Assessments with ongoing or follow up support as necessary.

Our lead DSEAR assessor (Richard Morgan a former ‘Her Majesty’s Senior Principal Inspector of Health and Safety’ with the HSE) brings decades of real world experience assessing compliance for the storage, processing and handling of flammable or explosive liquids, gases and dusts with the Manufacturing, utilities, laboratories, research, universities and service industries including hydrogen plants.

Fire Risk Assessment (Intermediate)

Many businesses don’t realise they are legally required to have a Fire Risk Assessment.

This applies to all businesses and commercial premises regardless of size.

Fire Risk Assessment is critical for keeping people safe. It’s far more than a document; it’s the foundation of effective fire safety and life protection, and is required under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

It is the first (necessary) step in the process of keeping people safe.

At SHE Does Safety we carry out clear, practical Intermediate Fire Risk Assessments to PAS 79‑1 for across Lowestoft, Beccles, Ipswich, Norwich, Thetford, Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge and London. All of our assessments are tailored to your size and risk profile.

What is included?

We identify the fire hazards within your building and those occurring from day to day operations, we review your existing controls and ensure the golden thread of information and action is in place.

You’ll receive a straightforward report with practical recommendations tailored to your premises — helping you protect people, reduce risk, and meet your legal responsibilities without unnecessary complexity.

Simple, realistic fire safety support that fits how your business operates (and what it needs to address), keeping life safety as the focus.

Health & Safety Review

Running a business can mean health and safety slips down the priority list. Every employer must ensure their arrangements are suitable and sufficient. It’s not always easy to know whether your current systems are truly effective, compliant with the latest regulations, or protecting your team in practice. Many small and medium size businesses struggle to step back and objectively assess their own arrangements; when you’re immersed in day‑to‑day operations, it’s hard to spot the gaps or even know what to look for.

What is included?

Our Health & Safety Reviews give you a clear, independent overview of how your safety management is performing for your business. We take time to understand you and your business — sampling key policies, procedures, risk assessments, and on‑site practices to ensure your system is not only documented but genuinely aligned and working as it should.

Our review topics focus on significant hazards and the industry risks your teams face.

HSG65 sets out the recognised framework for doing this using the Plan–Do–Check–Act cycle. Our Health & Safety Reviews are designed to strengthen each stage of that model.

You receive a written report, outlining the current status, observations, and recommended actions.

Most businesses find outsourcing this a financially viable way to access competent health and safety support as they scale and grow. All businesses must ensure they are actively monitoring safety and doing what’s necessary to protect their staff and others. And this is an efficient way of doing just that.

Health & Safety Competent Persons Service

Under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, every employer must appoint one or more competent persons to help them meet their health and safety duties. While you know your business better than anyone, that doesn’t always extend to the specialist knowledge required for effective health, safety and fire management. That’s where SHE Does Safety Ltd works alongside you — ensuring you can meet this requirement with confidence.

What We Offer

Regular check‑ins, adhoc support via email or phone each month, access to standard templates, regular email updates, and discounted service rates.

We want to support you in the way that suits you best. Hands‑on or hands‑off, every arrangement is tailored to your business needs. Agreements can be annual or monthly, with no multi‑year tie‑ins. We want you to stay because the support genuinely helps you.

We work closely with a trusted group of local businesses offering complementary services. If you need support in an area outside our scope, we can recommend reliable providers we know and trust.

Let’s grab a coffee or tea and talk about how we can support you and your business.
