Applications are invited for a Clinical Lecturer post for a Health and Social Care Regulated Professional. This role is available to nurses, midwives, allied health professionals (NMAHPs) and pharmacists. The post is for a maximum of four years. The aim of this post is to provide time and support for an early post-doctoral NMAHP to develop their clinical academic career, conduct preliminary research, and receive support and training to enable them to be successful in securing a post-doctoral or intermediate-level research fellowship.
This Clinical Lecturer post is 50% clinical and 50% research, with the time to be taken flexibly. The post is not limited by clinical specialty, area of health and/or care services, or research focus, provided the proposed work will benefit patients and/or public health.
The successful post-holder will continue in their clinical role within their employing organisation at 50% full-time equivalent (FTE) and therefore retain their employment rights and pension. The 50% FTE research time will be funded by NHSE East of England in collaboration with the University of Cambridge, where the post-holder will hold a secondment contract/visiting researcher agreement in an appropriate department. The choice of academic department should be determined by the applicant's field of research and should provide the most suitable research-active environment and mentorship to support their career goals. Funding will be allocated directly to the NHS host organisation by NHSE East of England.
Salary
Commensurate with current salary.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Hold a registration with either the HCPC or the NMC.
- Be employed by a provider of health and/or care services that delivers at least 50% of its services free at the point of delivery.
- Spend approximately 50% of their current role delivering health and/or care services that are free at the point of delivery.
- Work in the East of England NHS region.
- Have completed their PhD or have submitted their thesis and completed their viva with only minor corrections required at the time of interview, with confirmation of a pass from the HEI by the date of commencement in post.
