The Quality Engineer plays a key role in driving product, process and system quality across HUBER+SUHNER Polatis, helping to embed a quality-led culture during an exciting period of business transformation. Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing and Operations teams, the role is responsible for identifying improvement opportunities, resolving complex quality challenges and ensuring the highest standards of quality, reliability and compliance.
The post holder will lead root cause investigations, support new product introduction activities and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product performance, operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. This includes but is not limited to:
Continuous Improvement & Quality Culture - Lead root cause investigations and drive corrective and preventive actions using recognised quality methodologies
- Analyse quality data and performance trends to identify opportunities for improvement
- Champion a quality-first culture by promoting best practice, problem solving and continuous improvement across the business
- Support the organisation's transformation journey by embedding quality principles into everyday decision making and operational processes
Product & Process Quality
- Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to improve product quality, process capability and reliability
- Support the introduction and validation of new products, software releases and manufacturing processes
- Participate in risk assessment and mitigation activities to improve operational performance and customer satisfaction
Quality Systems & Compliance
- Support the ongoing development and effectiveness of the Quality Management System
- Ensure compliance with ISO9001 and other relevant regulatory, customer and business requirements
- Plan and support internal audit activities and drive actions arising from audit findings
- Support change management activities to ensure effective implementation and ongoing compliance
Stakeholder & Business Support
- Manage and investigate internal, supplier and customer quality concerns
- Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and verify sustainable improvements
- Develop and report quality KPIs and present recommendations to management teams
- Build strong cross-functional relationships and provide quality guidance across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Operations
- Act as a visible advocate for quality excellence throughout the organisation

Your profile
Essential - Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience in a Quality Engineer role within a manufacturing, engineering or technology-based environment
- Sound knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO9001 requirements
- Experience leading root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions
- Working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies such as 8D, RCA, RCCA, FMEA and continuous improvement techniques
- Ability to interpret engineering proposals
- Experience analysing and interpreting data to support decision-making and improvement activities
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Solid awareness of Health and Safety practices
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Desirable - Internal Auditor qualification
- Experience of ISO27001 requirements
- Knowledge of RoHS, REACH and SCIP regulations
- Experience within electronics, telecommunications, optical technologies or other high-technology manufacturing environments
- Experience using statistical analysis tools such as Minitab or JMP
- Knowledge of manufacturing process controls and validation activities
