The Cambridge Legal Walk will see lawyers cover 10km around the city, in support of a number of local organisations including ones supporting people facing homelessness, and adults and children who have been trafficked.
Associate solicitor Danielle Hainsby (pictured) will be taking part in the walk and said: "Legal advice is a right, not a privilege. I am pleased to be supporting a cause which at its heart seeks to make legal advice accessible to all members of society."
The walk is part of a number of similar events that will be held across the country.
“The need for free legal advice centres has grown in the past few years,” says The Eastern Legal Support Trust which organises the walk.
“The recession has increased poverty and reduced support services. Meanwhile funding for the advice centres themselves has reduced.
“We simply can't overcome the effects of the huge reduction in government and local authority funding over the past few years. What we can do is to ensure that many of the people most in need get help who would otherwise have been denied.
“By taking part in the Cambridge Legal Walk and seeking sponsorship from your friends, family and colleagues, you will be helping to secure vital funds needed for this important cause.”
